The Nintendo Wii gaming console has been designed to attract people of all ages or gaming console experience to sit down and have fun together. The Wii has built in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming system so you'll be able to play against someone on the other side of the world! The console can also connect wirelessly with the Nintendo DS. The Wii Console is white and stylish and compact, which can lie down flat or be placed in the console stand.

Wii Remote

The Wii remote, has been created in a shape of a TV remote control so it can easily be used by beginners or pros. Sensors determine the Wii Remote's position is in 3-D space through movements of your hand rather than by just your thumbs. The Wii remote also has a tiny speaker built into it so you get interactive surround sound whilst playing a game. Another function is force feedback "Rumble" an expansion port for use with accessories, like the Nunchuck, which adds an analogue thumb stick and trigger buttons. But there is an adapter that fits over the Wii's remote for people who prefer the traditional controller. The Wii remote communicates via Bluetooth, the wii console can have up to four remotes connected.

When using the Wii Remote you use it just like you were holding say a Tennis racket or wearing Boxing gloves, like a golf club or ready it like a baseball bat. Even with the nunchuk attached say for Boxing you hold up both the remote and the nunchuk to simulate your two hands and then duck and weave as you switch between trying to pummel your opponent and dodging or blocking their own attacks.

Nunchuk

The Nintendo Wii Nunchuk and the Wii Remote have similar motion-sensing, but the Nunchuk also includes 2 buttons and a control stick which enables you to move characters about while doing actions with the Wii Remote like throwing a ball to a member of your team. The Nunchuk connects up to the Wii Remote via the external extension connector.

Both the Nunchuk and the Wii Remote have wrist straps attached, just place it over your wrist and tighten using the strap lock, wearing the wrist strap will help prevent the Wii remote/nunchuk from flying across the room if you accidentally let go of it whilst playing a game.

Make sure you have plenty of room and move any furniture or objects so that you don't accidentally knock them over or bump into them whilst playing with your Wii.

Both can be used for left or right handed people for maximum control.

Sensor Bar

The Sensor Bar is normally placed above the Television screen, it has an infra-red light that the Wii Remote uses to determine the location and distance of the TV screen. Wii Remotes should be used 6 - 10 feet away. You can connect up to 4 Wii Remotes at once.

Mii Channel

This feature allows you to create your own Mii character in any of the games for that personal touch. Choose your hair style and colour, eye colour and of course your gender.

The Wii console boasts 512 MB of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports and a slot for SD memory card so you can view slideshows of your photos.
